Proposal Engineer (Tendering / Cost Estimation / M&E)

Job description

Basic salary: S$4,000–S$5,500 per month

Variable Bonus

Normal working hours, Monday–Friday

West location, within walking distance of MRT

Our client, an established building automation and controls solutions company, is seeking a Proposal Engineer to prepare technical-commercial proposals and cost estimates for BMS and related M&E scopes. You will apply your engineering knowledge to translate drawings and specifications into tender submissions, working closely with Sales, Engineering and Project teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Review tender documents, engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements to understand the scope of work.

Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, technical compliance documents and supporting tender submissions.

Perform quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost breakdowns and pricing for M&E/building automation scopes.

Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations against technical requirements, pricing and commercial terms.

Conduct cost comparisons and support pricing strategies and commercial discussions.

Coordinate technical and commercial input from Sales, Engineering, Project teams, suppliers and subcontractors throughout proposal preparation.

Requirements:

Relevant experience in engineering proposals, tendering, estimation or technical quotations; transferable M&E experience is welcome.

BMS, building automation or HVAC controls proposal experience is preferred.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, with practical involvement in quantity take-offs, costing and quotation evaluation.

Attention to detail in technical-commercial documentation and ability to meet tender submission deadlines.

Clear communication and coordination skills when working with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
